MONITORING TRENDS IN THE ZIMBABWE MEDIA’S COVERAGE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC – VOLUME 2

On the 30th of March 2022, the Zimbabwean Government instituted a 21-day national shutdown,  a measure meant to flatten the COVID-19 curve as the number of people infected by the virus were on the rise. After this period, President Mnangagwa extended the lockdown by a further 2 weeks. This report is a follow up to the pre-lockdown analysis conducted by Media Monitors to provide data that shows the nature of reporting on the pandemic, how comprehensive reports have been, who speaks o what issues, how various social groups are represented and professionalism by the media in reporting the pandemic.
